1.20802 CALCULUS II

Integration techniques: substitution, integration by parts, integration of rational function and powers of trig functions, integration by trigonometric and other substitutions. Further applications of definite integrals: area between curves, volumes of solids of revolution, arc length, surface area, work, applications from science. Cauchy's mean value theorem, l'Hopital's rule, application to indeterminate forms. Infinite sequences and series, tests for convergence and divergence, power series, Taylor and Maclaurin series with remainders. Conic sections, polar coordinates, polar graphs, area and arc length.

Assessment:

2 tests (25%), 3 or 4 assignments (15%) and final exam (60%).
