1.30821 INTRODUCTION TO DATABASES

Databases are increasingly being used in many organizations as information management systems. This course is to provide students with the knowledge and experience a relational database system. Topics covered include: Data, Database models and DBMS; Structured Query Language (SQL), DDL, DML and DCL; Relational Algebra; Triggers and Integrity Constraints; and Tools and Interfaces.

Contact hours:

Four hours lecture and two hours lab per week.

Assessment:

Three Assignments (20%) , two tests (20%), final exam (60%)
