2.14403 CHILD HEALTH

This course is a specialty course and is compulsory for students enrolled in the Midwifery and Paediatric Strands within the Bachelor of Clinical Nursing. The course aims to upgrade knowledge and skills in assessing and evaluating health status and normal growth and developmental stages of children from birth to 12 years. It further exposes the students to environmental and hereditary factors contributing to childhood illness and the specific skills in assessing, diagnosing and treating and preventing of the common childhood diseases in PNG, including immunisation policies and programs.
