2.14405 PSYCHO-SOCIAL THEORIES OF MENTAL HEALTH NURSING
This course introduces students to nursing, psychological and social theories and concepts applicable to mental health care and their impacts on mental health nursing in PNG. The course is designed to produce critical thinking skills in students to encourage them to apply theoretical concepts appropriately to psychiatric and mental health clinical practice. It further expands students' knowledge of psychology to assist them understand individuals and accept individual differences in professional and social affiliations and facilitate psycho-social therapy for individuals, families, groups and/or communities.
