2.14412 COMMUNITY ASSESSMENT & RURAL HEALTH FIELD
This course aims to develop students' knowledge and skills in conducting community assessment to identify physical, socio-economic and cultural, and environmental factors contributing to health and diseases among families and communities in both urban and rural settings in PNG. In addition, students are exposed to the National Health Department's policies and programs relating to health reform in particular the concept of "healthy Islands". As part of the course students are required to spend at least six weeks in selected rural health facilities and communities for practical exposure.
