2.14418 PRINCIPLES & PRACTICE OF EMERGENCY NURSING
This is a clinical specialty course which aims to prepare and consolidate students with a theoretical and practical framework, which to conduct proficiently and effectively in any emergency situation. The course enables students establish a framework for applying the skills and principles of 'patient assessment, biological and biomedical and medical-surgical' in any emergency catastrophe. Emphasis is given to the collaborative role of the nursing (in Emergency Department) and medical personnel to TRIAGE; and the effectiveness of primary, secondary and definitive assessment and proficient management of the patient in any developing country like PNG.
