2.14432 MICROENVIRONMENT OF ANAESTHESIA & CLINICAL PRACTICE

The course aims to ensure that students develop an appreciation of clinical anaesthesia, including preoperative patient assessment and preparation, choice of anaesthetic, intra-operative care and immediate postoperative care, including pain management. The course also provides students with the knowledge, skills and techniques needed to function in the operating theatre environment.

Contact hours: 4 weeks lectures, 8 hours per day = 160 hours; Clinical full time = 30 weeks; Revision = 1 week; Exam = 1 week

Assessment: Exam consists of written (25%), oral (25%) and practical (25%) at the end of semester 2. Four assignments per semester (25%)
