2.14502 RESEARCH IN NURSING
The course aims to develop students' knowledge and skills in applied research with a special focus on specialist nursing practices in order to improve patient care and the nursing practices in PNG. This is a compulsory course for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Clinical Nursing programs. The topics to be examined include, the overview of the historical background and trends in nursing research, ethical issues and research, the steps in the research processes including qualitative and quantitative research approaches, documentation, communication and utilization of research findings, and recommendations. The significant part of the study involves literature review and critique of research articles as prerequisite to conducting an action research in the area of their professional interests in semester two.
