2.14507 COMMUNITY HEALTH PRACTICE I

This course aims to equip students with knowledge and skills for evaluating and maintaining minimum standards for promotive and preventive health care services in PNG, in relation to the national government reform plans and national health plan. Topics include concepts and practice of community health, national health issues, policies and priorities and epidemiology and basic statistics and presentation of data. Students are required to analyse the Population Health, recording diseases Health Survey Methods, Environmental Health Information and Reporting Systems, Behavioural Aspects in Health Delivery System and Epidemic Control strategies for district and provincial level health care, and interventions and theories of change in a community setting.
