2.14511 NURSING QUALITY MANAGEMENT
This course examines the concepts and history of Quality Management, components and characteristics of Total Quality Management. Application of business concepts of quality management into health care settings, the techniques and strategies of quality assurance and infection control in health care settings including the management of health care facility and community acquired infections, the implementation of a quality assurance and infection control program, the roles and responsibilities of the nurse manager in providing quality patient care, nursing audit, minimum standards and indicators of quality patient care. Nursing Council roles and responsibilities, the legal and ethical issues of quality control and safe practices, nursing standards, policies and procedures for monitoring and evaluating quality patient and health care delivery systems in the various settings, are also covered.
