2.14512 THEORIES & MODELS OF CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

This course introduces students to the various theories and concepts in curriculum studies, with reference to health, psycho-social and philosophical issues in curriculum design, development, implementation and evaluation, including curricula innovations and changes in accordance with the needs of the stakeholders. The topics include conceptual framework for the design, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, models and strategies for curriculum innovation and change, nurse educators’ roles and responsibilities in the educational settings and linking to the clinical settings. Students are encouraged to critically analyse and report on the impacts of the existing training programs and curricula, and to recommend changes in the best interest of the stakeholders.
