2.14517 COMMUNITY HEALTH FIELD PRACTICE
This course exposes students to the selected specialty areas within the district hospitals, health centres and clinics to gain some work experience in semester two. During their field experience, students participate in environmental health, disease control and health promotion activities as required. Students are required to choose a topic in their professional interest and develop a research project proposal in consultation with the Discipline Leader or the Head of the Division. The selection of the topic or learning contracts will be drawn-up depending upon the availability of expertise and resources. This course comprises of six weeks practical/ field experience and completion of a research project report totalling 3,000 words and a certification of the field practice by their respective preceptors. The final assessment includes oral presentation and written report.
