2.29901 MEDICAL RADIATION IMAGING I
This is a semester long course and is designed to introduce the student to the general principles of imaging and onto imaging of the upper and lower extremities. In the course students will be taught the techniques for imaging the fingers, hands, wrist, forearm, elbow, humerus, shoulder, pelvis, thighs, knee, lower legs and the feet before they can practice in a real hospital setting. Students will also learn the techniques for critiquing images for accuracy of technique and diagnostic quality and to develop the ability to decide additional views whenever required to demonstrate pathology. In addition, students will learn the skills of searching for information and to develop communication skills through oral presentations and report writing.
Contact hours: 6 hours per week (2 lecturers, 2 tutorials, 2 lab sessions)
Assessment: Tests, assignment, case study (60%), final exam (40%)
