2.39905 MEDICAL SCIENCE 3

This course is undertaken in the second semester of third year. Students will be out in the field every second week full on at Port Moresby General Hospital and selected radiology practices around Port Moresby. They would be required to do selected case studies in which an oral presentation of at least one case at the end of the clinical block forms part of the assessment. These clinical block gives the students the opportunity to utilize skills learnt in other courses on a wide variety of cases. The clinical block is also aimed at building up professionalism. There is also the possibility that students could be sent out for field practice at selected provincial hospitals. However, it will only happen when circumstances warrant it.

Contact hours: Practical comprises 4 days per week at a clinical placement

Assessment: Case studies, assignments, practicum report (60%). Practical simulation exam (40%).
