2.54901 PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGY
This course introduces students to the basic and general principles of drug product manufacturing focussing on major dosage forms such as tablets and liquids. On completion, the students will be able to: outline important physicochemical drug properties determining the selection of product dosage form and the manufacturing method for given drugs; and discuss unit operations applied in drug product manufacturing and the inherent in-process quality inspections.
Contact hours: 6 hours per week (2 lectures, 1 tutorial and 3 hour practical).
Prerequisite: 2.34901; 2.44901
Assessment: Tests, assignment, and practical works (60%) exam (40%).
