2.54902 CLINICAL PHARMACY
The course aims to introduce students to the principles of Clinical Pharmacy as applied to PNG. On successful completion, students should be able to: integrate the knowledge based on other pharmacy disciplines for the management of individual patient problems; have an understanding of the Patho physiology of common diseases and their relevance to PNG; understand the application of drug therapy to patient care including monitoring the outcomes of this therapy; understand the principles of clinical pharmacy in monitoring appropriate drug usage; and be familiar with the treatment of common diseases and minor ailments.
Contact: 6 hours per week (4 hours clinical, 2 hours tutorial).
Assessment: Tests and practical work (60%), final exam (40%)
