Sporting events and cultural shows and festivals are becoming major tourist attractions in PNG. This course is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge to organize and host such an event successfully. Sporting events, festivals, cultural shows, trade fairs and exhibitions have a considerable impact on the prosperity of the tourism industry in PNG. This course provides students with international, national and local perspectives of conventions and vents management. With a focus on PNG students examine and evaluate the management, marketing, financial and operational considerations together with strategies necessary to ensure a viable event.
