3.31203 BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The aim of this course is to develop an understanding of information technology (IT) and information system (IS) and its significance for managers, exploring how IT and e-commerce enable changes to the skills, work practices, structures and culture of organisations. The topics covered include understanding how IT can enhance an organisation business strategy, to increase business opportunities and create competitive advantage; understanding how IT affects an organisation's clients, customers, suppliers and the community as well as staff, and understanding how to combine the information and communication technology expertise with general management skills.
