3.40318 INTRODUCTION TO DECISION ANALYSIS

The objective of the course is to introduce students to quantitative techniques necessary for making management and business decisions. The focus is on techniques for making decisions under environments of risk, uncertainty and conflict. The course starts with a review of these models: Deterministic, Probabilistic, Network / Inventory models including CPM and PERT, followed by in-depth analysis of Decision and Probability Theory as applied to risky and uncertain environments, Game Theory, Markov Analysis, Queuing Theory and Simulation. The computer package QSB+ and GAMS are used extensively during practicals.
