3.40803 STRATEGIC HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
This course is designed to introduce students to the concepts/theory and practicalities of human resource management. The course describes the major functions and activities of human resource management in an organisation in which emphasis is placed on identifying and explaining not only the building blocks of human resource management, but also their relationship in operational pursuit of organisational goals. At times, distinction will be made between human resource management/personnel management and other areas of study which attempt to offer similar views as to how organisations function. Major aims of the subject are to provide an introduction to the major parts of human resource management and their roles in the sustainability of an organisation.
