5.27701 TRIAL PRACTICE & CRIMINAL PROCEDURE

This course introduces students to the Criminal Justice System of PNG. The course begins by introducing students to the various constitutional and legislative provisions which shape the Criminal Justice System as they relate to a defendant from arrest through to conviction, sentence and appeal. Although some time will be spent on the philosophical, historical and comparative aspects of the justice system, the primary focus of the course is on the criminal practice and procedure.
