5.30716 INTERNATIONAL LAW

The topics covered in this course include: origin, nature and sources of international law; interaction between international law and municipal law; codification of International law; statehood and sovereignty; international and state practice relating to recognition of states and governments, legal nature of territory of states; legal status of mandated and trust territories; United Nations and international peace and security; rules relating to disarmament; universal and regional attitudes to human rights; issues in treaty - making; status of air space and outer space; concepts of territorial sea; contiguous zone; regimes or innocent passage in territorial sea and transit passage in straits; doctrine of continental shelf; freedom of the high seas; hot pursuit; and diplomatic and consular immunities.
