6.23903 ETHICS & CIVICS

This course introduces students to basic ethical and philosophical thoughts put forward by early thinkers. It helps to inspire students to be responsible and rational citizens in society upon completing their studies at UPNG. Students are made aware of the costs and benefits of industrial and economic development and a human being's responsibilities in approaching these issues. It also makes students aware of mankind's special relationship with the environment.

Contact hours: 4 hours per week (2 lectures, 2 tutorials)

Assessment: 1 mid-semester test, tutorial attendance and presentation, and final exam.

Prerequisite: Higher School Certificate (Year 12)
