This year's graduation marks the University of Papua New Guinea's 65th Commencement, but unlike the graduations of the years past, these unprecendented times call for new ways of celebrating a milestone.
From October 12 - 16, 2020, the University of Papua New Guinea, will come together as a Community right across the Country, to virtually honour the graduation of the Class of 2020 and to confer their hard-earned degrees.
Yhe Chancellor of the University, Mr Robert Igara adviced that as Papua New Guinea's premier institution of learning, it was important to lead by example and to honour the students and their families remotely.
"While we must be separated at this moment of celebration, the spirit of community has never been stronger. We will livestream this event, and each School will host their own online ceremony, and we hope that your families can gather in your homes, and around your family gathering platforms to host your celebration like no other," said the Chancellor
The University of Papua New Guinea Council and the Executives recognize and acknowledge the sacrifices that so many parents, guardian and communities have made for this momentous occassion and we remind the students that a virtual graduation does not mean that your achievement is valued less, but it proves that you can adapt and overcome even Covid19, to commence the new phase of your life's journey.
Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2020
