- Mr.Dek Joe Sum is an Associate Lecturer (Economics) and Project Coordinator at the Development Policy Centre, seconded in Port Moresby, PNG as part of our partnership with University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG). Prior to this position, he worked as a head tutor at the ANU Research School of Economics (RSE). Dek is a recipient of multiple teaching awards. He was awarded the 2018 Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Tutoring or Demonstrating, the university’s highest award for teaching excellence and 2017 College of Business and Economics (CBE) Award of Excellence in Tutoring and Demonstrating. His research interests are Economic Development and Growth, Time Series, Econometrics, and Structural VAR.
