Message from Head - Accounting Division

I am pleased to welcome you back to the Accounting Division's learning environment. It is good that you decided to return to the University to complete your Semester 1 academic activities. As COVID-19 is still a potential threat, everyone in the University is required to follow the guidelines issued by the authorities in teaching and learning. You will be continuing your academic activities under new normal conditions. Social distancing and personal hygiene are the most important habits that you must continually practise as everyone's safety is important at this crucial point in time.

Teaching and learning will now be the "new normal."

• Classrooms/ lecture theatres have been allocated to be able to maintain social distancing. To facilitate this, students have been organised into manageable groups.
• Face-to-face contact hours have been reduced.
• Blended teaching and learning methods have been introduced. This means that your notes and recorded lectures will be delivered using “UPNG's Online Learning “platform in addition to the face-to-face lectures. This will be a new experience to which you will need to adjust quickly.
• In order to access the Online Learning Platform, you will need to follow these steps:
  • Open the UPNG Moodle Site (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.);
  • Create your account as a first-time user. To do this, you will need to use your UPNG student email Address. Gmail and other email addresses are not acceptable.
• After you have received a confirmation email from the administrator, via the UPNG email, you can log into the courses.

Your respective lecturers will provide more information after they meet with you face-to-face, during the week commencing Monday 11 May 2020. Make your way to the SBPP Building, read the notices, and follow instructions accordingly. Visits to lecturers’ rooms to meet them personally will be strictly controlled. All queries should be directed to lecturers, by email.
