The course aims at giving students an understanding of the operation of the main natural resource sectors of the economy. The course gives an introduction to the input side of the economy where natural reasons are required as inputs to the production of outputs. The topics include building blocks to the study of natural resources, mineral resources, energy, natural gas, forecast economics, marine resources, land resources, water resources, outdoor creation, wildlife management and biodiversity preservation.
Other topics are minerals and energy, mineral resource taxation, mining and petroleum policy, water resource, ecological and environmental impact of minerals and energy development.
