This course aims to enhance students existing knowledge by looking at the concept of banking from an international perspective. The financial institutions involved in international banking transactions, the various modes of transactions, the financial markets involved and the financial instruments such as letters of credit and bank bills that are transacted are studied in this unit.

The course also profiles the development of bankers from its beginnings to the various forms it has assumed, including the range of services and products provided and the value creation processes. Issues that are changing the global financial and banking landscape such as financial deregulation and their impact on both the global and domestic financial and monetary systems are also studied.
